San Francisco, 18 March 2026 - OpenLearning, a global learning platform used by 250+ universities and education providers globally, today announced a partnership with SpatialChat, a spatial interaction platform powering live learning sessions and academic events for higher education institutions worldwide.
Through the partnership, institutions can add high-interaction learning environments to their courses on OpenLearning through a dedicated SpatialChat integration, offering a practical path to enhance online programs around participation, group work, and community.
The integration connects two layers of the digital learning stack that have historically been disconnected: the infrastructure institutions use to run online programs, and the environments where live interaction happens. OpenLearning supports more than 5 million learners across degree, professional, and lifelong learning pathways from 250+ institutions. SpatialChat is used by 400+ universities and training providers to run interactive classes, virtual campuses, and cohort-based programs, with facilitators reporting 2-3x higher participation in small-group discussions compared to conventional video sessions.
"The next generation of LMS goes beyond content delivery. It's about using the right tools to design programs that encourage deeper participation and inspire learners to engage," said Adam Brimo, Chief Executive Officer, OpenLearning.
"By combining engagement intelligence with learning infrastructure, institutions can design experiences that actually change how learners participate online," said Riddhik Kochhar - CEO, SpatialChat.
